JavaScript is a client (web browser) scripting language which is used to create web pages. It is often used to make webpage dynamic, to add special effects to content on pages like rollover and roll out, communicate with databases, and manipulate many types of graphics. It is used to achieve certain outcomes when HTML and CSS, the two other basic languages understood by a web browser, cannot on their own.
